ZOMBIE FILM FRIDAY: Patient Zero | #Zombies #ZombieMovie #HowDidIMissThisOne

I have no idea how I missed this one… Stanley Tucci and Natalie Dormer in another movie together and this one with zombies?!? I loved the psychological aspects and I highly recommend it despite some of the lackluster reviews.

Patient_Zero_posterIn the pandemic thriller, Patient Zero, humanity is battling intelligent, adrenaline-fueled creatures born from a viral super-strain. After being bitten, human survivor Morgan (Matt Smith) realizes he is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected, leading the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.

My Rating: A

Interesting Facts: The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2013 Blacklist; a list of the “most liked” unmade scripts of the year; Matt Smith plays a character in this movie looking for patient zero (in his first episode on Doctor Who as the doctor he is hunting down prisoner zero); on October 18, 2013, it was announced that Mike Le’s zombie script “Patient Z” was in the bidding war between different mini-major studios to get its rights (Appian Way was about to take it to the Fox Searchlight Pictures and Syfy Films, while Warner Bros. was also in talks. Other studios in the bidding were included Silver Pictures, Davis Entertainment, Broken Road Productions, Donners’ Company, Vincent Newman Entertainment and Misher Films. On October 29, 2013, Screen Gems won the bidding war from other studios and acquired the US rights to the film titled “Patient Zero”); and when running outside, the shadows fall to the left of the characters while the moon is visible in front of the characters.

And now it’s time for the trailer…

Get in on the action!
