ZOMBIE FILM FRIDAY: Island Zero | #notzombies #stillgood

So this was a strange movie and I’m not sure what I really expected to be honest… When I read the synopsis, I thought it was maybe a zombie flick, but it really wasn’t. It wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t great. If you’re looking for something with a SciFi bent, and you’re not too concerned with production value, give Island Zero a whirl.

MV5BYzI1OGMxMTItNjZhZS00ZjA1LTg0ZDUtYjg3MGVkOWFjMGY3XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjI0ODgwODA@._V1_A fishing community on a remote Maine island finds itself suddenly cut off from the rest of the world after the ferry stops coming. When people start to vanish, the terrified survivors realize that someone – or something – is hunting them.

My Rating: C

Interesting Facts: The role of Sam’s 12-year-old daughter Allie was originally written for a boy, but child actor Elaine Landry’s audition was so impressive, the gender of the character was re-written just for her; due to the limited budget, much of the wardrobe was bought in Goodwill shops around the state of Maine; and a real house was burned down for the climactic scene. The Town of Camden (Maine) Fire Department supervised the burning, and used it as a training exercise for their firefighters.

And now it’s time for the trailer…
