So starts the first in a new series on Days with the Undead – How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse!
When I see something I think will be useful, or a tip being shared around, I plan on bringing it to you all. Heck, we might as well be prepared right?
And so…
This thing actually exists. Some developers here in Japan have come up with this sort of sphere as a sort of survival tool in case of an earthquake or tsunami like the one in 2011. There was a report on CNN about them maybe a week ago but when I googled it I quickly found this article from the Asahi Shimbun:

The designer’s name is Shoji Tanaka.
That’s awesome Mike! Thank you for your comment and for sharing a new potential tool!
I’m not so sure I’d feel good about using the same hole for retrieving items (food?) that I use for a toilet. Maybe a second hole would be better?
That’s a good point Edward… But then if the ZA happens, how concerned are you really going to be? Plus, all you really need is good aim…
Does the plug come with it, or does that cost extra? 😉
Yes the plug is included! When I saw it, I immediately wanted one – it would be a great way to go shopping at the mall… No one would bump into you that way!
Plus baby strollers would no longer be an issue! 😉
Agreed, but then it’s generally not the strollers that are the issue… It’s the parents pushing those strollers! Just think, now you’d be able to make them move out of your way!
…would be tough to whack them in the shins though. I’m sure there’s a solution – I’ll work on it! lol
With this invention, whacking them on the shins would become obsolete. It’s either ‘move out of the way, or get rolled over’ time!
Still, they deserve the ‘shin moments’… then the rolling over! 😉
