When I heard that Romero was coming out with another film in his ‘Of the Dead’ series, I was truly excited. Land of the Dead had all of the requisite parts, but in the end, I found myself wanting just a little more…
Now that zombies have taken over the world, the living have built a walled-in city to keep the dead out. But all’s not well where it’s most safe, as a revolution plans to overthrow the city leadership, and the zombies are turning into more advanced creatures.
My Rating: B-
Interesting Fact: The view of the zombies rising from out of the river is an homage to the classic scene from Herk Harvey’s Carnival of Souls where the dead rise out of the Great Salt Lake before the dance sequence.
Honourable Mentions for the letter L: A Little Bit Zombie, Lord of the Dead
I never knew there are so many zombie flicks out there. I like your interesting facts too
There are tonnes of them Sue! I’m a bit of a nut when it comes to Zombies – I love the genre. I have read, watched and played so much!
This one, I have to say, ranks for cheese factor only. Check your brain at the door, grab your popcorn, and just enjoy the mayhem! A great L day flick pick!
I love it because it’s Romero, but it has some serious flaws 😉
It’s a fun ‘just watch – don’t think’ film, no doubt! 🙂
