A is for Army of Darkness

As today is the first day of the A to Z April Blogging Challenge, the letter is (obviously) A. Throughout the month of April, I will be featuring a Zombie Movie that starts with the letter of the day. I’m even going to include some honourable mentions since it’s so hard to pick just one to feature. If you haven’t seen them, I suggest you find them on Netflix and give them a watch 🙂

In this sequel to the Evil Dead films, a discount-store employee is warped through time to a medieval castle besieged by monstrous forces. Initially mistaken for one of the enemy, he is revealed as the saviour prophesied to quest for the Necronomicon, the book which can dispel the evil. Unfortunately, he screws up the spell while collecting the tome, and releases an army of skeletons, led by his own Deadite counterpart. What follows is a tongue-in-cheek, but thrilling battle between Ash and the minions of darkness.

My Rating: A

Interesting Fact: As Ash is being chased though the forest you can see the tip of the cameraman’s shoe as he runs with the Steadicam

Honourable Mentions for the Letter A: Abraham Lincoln Vs. Zombies, Autumn

Here’s a look at the trailer!

  1. I haven’t seen Army of Darkness but I’m certainly going to now. It might have to wait until after April. Next year for A to Z, I will be much better prepared (I always say crap like that but I never learn).

  2. Ha ha…. that looks awesome. I have to get it.

I did the challenge once – it was hard work! I’m away in UK for most of April too this year so had to decline. It’s a lot of fun though and you meet a lot of great bloggers. X

Get in on the action!
